TENNESSEE AQUARIUM SPRING BREAK KEEPER KIDSIn Chattanooga, TN Spring Break will excite the whole family with the new Tennessee Aquarium Keeper Kids Program. Help the vet, feed otters, turtles and partridges, release butterflies, be a SCUBA assistant and so much more. Keeper Kids is one of the top Spring Break ideas in the Southeast. All free this Spring Break with TN Aquarium admission from March 13-21 and April 3-11, 2010.
Spring Break activities for Keeper Kids include a list of their “duties”, a report form and an "o-FISH-al" certificate. Upon arrival in the lobby, Keeper Kids and their families will be able to sign up for two special experiences on a space-available basis. Activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. throughout the day:
Ocean Journey Keeper Kids experiences:
- release butterflies
- feed partridges and Palawan peacock pheasant
- prep food for the Ray Buffet and feed stingrays
- make enrichment items for the hyacinth macaws
- go behind the scenes with scuba divers
- help feed some of the animals in the Secret Reef
- record penguin observations behind the scenes
- be a “scuba buddy” during a gear check and demonstration
River Journey Keeper Kids experiences:
- feed the otters
- feed trout
- observe an animal encounters training session
- explore a hidden maze of pipes and pumps
- help the Aquarium veterinarian
- delve into a working biology research lab
- assist with sea turtle enrichment
- help feed animals in the Gulf of Mexico or Lake Nickajack exhibit
- prepare an essential dietary supplement for aquatic species
- feed turtles in the Delta Swamp
Dates available: March 13-21 and April 3-11.
Hours: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Aquarium hours 10:00 am to 6:00 pm)
Price: Keeper Kids activities are FREE with TN Aquarium admission.

Chattanooga Spring Break Hotel Packages
These activities, which take on average of 15 minutes, are appropriate for kids ages 6 and up and in most cases they are limited to ten kids plus parents who can observe. Sign ups need more than 30 minutes between encounters. (For example, don't sign up for 3:30 and 4:00 encounters.)
